i compared the frame rates i was getting with my Phenom II quad at 4.1ghz to it. Now why would anyone call this a budget option? well this is where i got my info before doing this. Westmere is simply the same architecture shrunk to 32nm, though they claim it performs better too, but from a lot of evidence they performs the same as the 45/32nm i7 desktop class CPU's.
However back when AMD was competitive games were not processor demanding and did not use them efficiently, fast forwards today and gaming is a very different thing for processors, those threads are now used etc etc.
Hi there, let me start out by saying this is the first time i have had experience with X58 ever, back when it was new i was on AM3 sticking my finger up to the Bloomfield i7's with my 555 BE unlocked into Quad.īut that was back in the day when things were very different and the i7's had not come into proper use for what i did back then - gaming.
